Gefen offers separate senders of its HDBaseT® extender systems

Senders of Gefens DVI and HDMI Extender Systems are now available separately for displays and projectors with built-in receivers

Munich, 8 May 2013 - HDBaseT® technology for long-distance transmission of uncompressed HD video and audio is advancing fast. More and more displays and projectors are equipped with a HDBaseT®-Input. Thus no external receiver is necessary anymore. Gefen takes this development into account and offers HDBaseT® senders now separately. With immediate effect „sender only“ of its extender systems GTB-HDMI-3DTV and EXT-DVI-ELR can be purchased.

New Gefen DVI-3600HD extends multiple A/V signals over fiber optic cable for easy setup of remote workstations

The KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) extender DVI-3600HD comes with rack mountable sender and receiver units equipped with ports for DVI, USB, RS-232 and analog audio.

Munich, 30 April 2013 - When connected to a local computer and a remote workstation, the DVI-3600HD delivers high resolution (1920x1200) video in the DVI format, up to four USB peripherals such as keyboard/mouse, printer, camera and hard drive, RS-232 automation or control and analog audio from sender to receiver.

Distances up to 2.000 m (6600 feet) are reached using a single mode fiber optic cable. The use of multi-mode fiber optic cable will reach distances up to 500m (1650 feet).

Because USB peripherals can be connected at both local (sender) and remote (receiver) locations, users can set up two distant workstations and alternate between the two. When in local mode, the computer accesses up to two USB devices connected to the sender unit. When in remote mode, it recognizes up to four USB devices connected to the receiver unit. A front panel switch on the sender controls local and remote modes of operation.

Local and virtual EDID ensures a constant signal sync even when delivering multiple signals up to 2000 meters in distance.

EXT-DVI-3600HD at a glance:

  • Extends DVI, USB2.0, RS-232, and analog audio up to 6,600 feet (2000 meters) with single-mode fiber, and up to 1,650 feet (500 meters) with multi-mode fiber
  • Supports video resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 @60 Hz (WUXGA)
